Physiotherapy is a manual approach that assesses, diagnoses, treats, and works to prevent disease and disability.

Our resident physiotherapist, Luis Resa is an expert in movement and function and works in partnership with his patients, assisting them to overcome movement disorders. Luis uses a combination of medically researched, evidence based practices and draws on his extensive experience to ensure that patients get fast, safe and effective management of their problems.

Luis can assist you with overcoming musculoskeletal movement disorders that have been sustained through injury or accident, been of the result of old age or simply looking to increase your performance in whatever activity you’re involved in.

One-on-one, hands on treatment sessions that can involve:
  • exercise programs to improve mobility and strengthen muscles
  • joint manipulation and mobilisation to reduce pain and stiffness
  • muscle re-education to improve control
  • soft tissue mobilisation (massage)
  • dry needling
  • taping to stabilise and/or improve movement patterns in the body
  • no heat packs or machines

As a first contact practitioner, you will not require a doctors referral however if appropriate, Luis will often engage with doctors to ensure effective outcomes. If you have private health cover you will be able to utilise Hammer Athletic’s HICAPS facilities to claim your visit.

With Luis’s unique history in working both in private practice and in the elite sporting field he believes that every patient, whether you be professional/semi professional athlete, a weekend warrior or an office worker – you should receive the same treatment provided at the elite level.
